Again, Amotekun Kills 21-Years-Old In Ibadan

Amotekun has reportedly killed a 21-years-old student in Oyo State

The group have become notorious especially in Oyo State as they regularly clash with residents

The deceased, Tosin Thomas was killed at a filling station in Mokola, Ibadan on Wednesday

The Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) otherwise known as Amotekun have been brewing controversy following the numbers of killing the group have been accused of carrying out.

There have been several reports of the security outfit instigating violence an indiscriminately busing residents with the government doing nothing to address the issue.

According to human rights group,Amnesty International, the federal government should all the group to order before activities of the group take the form of a militia.

Speaking on the murder of Tosin Thomas, Olugbenga Fadeyi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state in a statement confirmed an Amotekun operative was responsible for the murder of the young man.

Also, the state commandant of Amotekun, Col. Olayanju Olayinka (rtd), confirmed the incident yesterday.

Meanwhile, we reported earlier that the Nigerian government has directed all telecommunication operators to deregister all SIM cards that are not synchronized with the National Identity Number (NIN) by December 30th 2020.
