A 30-year-old Colombian woman has opened up on why she swallowed a whopping cash sum of $7000.
The woman had a bitter fight with her husband and angrily swallowed the said amount in an attempt to keep the money away from his sight.
She swallowed them in rolls of $100 bills.
The woman was said to have passed out after the incident but luckily for her, doctors at the University Hospital of Santander in Colombia were able to extract the bills through surgery.
Director of Surgery at the University Hospital of Santander, Juan Paulo Serrano, spoke to newsmen after the surgery.
He said they were able to surgically extract 57 $100 bills from the woman’s stomach and intestines.

The doctor added that other rolls would be passed through the colon.
He said the rolls were not wrapped or packaged, which suggests they were not part of any illegal transport and simply swallowed in an ‘act of desperation.’

In an interview with the local RCN television channel, the woman said:
“I have been saving the money for a vacation with my husband before swallowing it.”
…but this is a stupid act. One would say ‘women and money!’
