When actress Tonto Dikeh bagged an award in 2019 from a University in the United Arab Emirate it was a shock to many Nigerians who knew little about what te Nollywood star is capable of. Even in the media, Tonto Dkeh is painted like a controversial celebrity.

This is due to her constant fight with her ex-husband Olakunle Churchill and her strange friendship with crossdresser Bobrisky. However, a lot is changing about the public perception of the actress who stole the show for her charitable activities during the lockdown.

Recently the actress was in a meeting to discuss the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Department of State Security (DSS). IThe meeting was organized by CIMS Nigeria, an organization established to sensitive Nigerians on government achievements and promote youthful inclusion in policy-making processes.

These big organizations are often known by members of the public as the home of “money bags”. Meaning, it is only the very rich and influential that work there. The NDDC was established to address militancy and other concerns in the Niger Delta oil-producing states.

Tonto Dikeh Has Become a Model for Many

The actress was there to make inputs and it seems that she is an advocate for the group. With her large following on social media and her soaring reputation as a philanthropist, Tonto Dikeh has managed to repair her once battered image in the public space.

Like Omotola Jelade Ekehinde she is becoming a role model even to those that once castigated her. However, her friendship with Bobrisky may be a threat to the personality that she intends to build.

The successes made by her Tonto Dikeh Foundation and the numerous network that she established as people from far and wide irrespective of religion or ethnic affiliation trooped to her office in Abuja during the lock-down to beg for donation.
