Nigerian man mistakenly transfers

Nigerian man mistakenly transfersOn his Facebook Timeline, he shared his ordeal, saying he is indeed speechless and confused because the said money was meant for someone else who is currently working on his film.

“… This God we have created in our image. Broken. Sifted. Corrupted. Fallible. Unforgiving. Vengeful. Envious. Covetous, Untruthful, Deceptive. A God who lies and steals.

Today, I made an error, a rectifiable error. I transferred a sum of money in the lower seven figures in Naira via my bank’s mobile app. Problem is I had transferred it to the wrong person. I didn’t realise I had two people registered on my account with the same last name.

The intended recipient called me to ask if I had sent it. I told him I had. He said he hadn’t received it. I told him that I sent it 2 hours ago. It was a hmmm moment because I had received an alert to the effect that the money had been sent.

So to be doubly sure, I went to check my account again. Surely my bank balance had reduced. I told him same. He reiterated that he hadn’t received it and wondered why it would have taken so long since we both banked with the same bank. I went back to check my account.

And there it was staring me in the face. Wrong recipient. But since the person I had mistakenly sent the money to is a friend, I wasn’t alarmed. I immediately called him. He picked the phone.

Nigerian man mistakenly transfersHis usual chatty, “God bless you brother,” self. I told him that I mistakenly sent him money. He said he saw the transfer and then proceeded to thank me. I repeated that it was a mistake, he said it wasn’t, that it is an answer to his prayers.

“God has met me at my point of need.”

I told him that I needed him to send the money back to me. He laughed and said that the money had already fulfilled its purpose. He had spent it all. In 2 hours. Seven figures. It was now that the alarm bells began to ring because I had hitherto felt he was joking. I gathered my wits and calmed myself before patiently explaining to him that the money was meant for someone else who is doing some work for my film.

He commiserated with me, telling me that God will help the person understand what had happened and give the person the patience to wait for the money to be resent. Then he said that he can pay me the money back in installments. N50,000 a month. Beginning January 2018 and ending August 2019. After which he finished by saying that he will be praying that my film will be a success.

I am speechless,” Idada added.

This is really not fair. Do you think what his friend did was good enough? If the money came from a stranger, one could understand the reason for his actions but this is his friend for crying out loud. How wicked can people be?

Let’s have your thoughts on this.
