
News making the rounds now have it that notorious billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike alias Evans, has reportedly dragged the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and three others before the Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged illegal detention. Kidnapper Evans drags IGP, 3 others to court.
The 36-year-old most wanted Nigerian kidnapper, who showed no mercy during his reign of terror, was arrested June 10 in Lagos State by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force. One of his mansions in the Magodo area of the state where he took cover, was raided by the Joint Special Forces led by the Intelligence Response Team, the Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Technical and Intelligent Unit of the Force. Following his arrest, he as reportedly been on detention.
Kidnapper Evans drags IGP, 3 others to court
As at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that Evans who dragged the Nigeria Police Force, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command, prayed the court for an order compelling the respondents to immediately release him unconditionally, in the absence of any offence that will warrant his being charged to court.
His Lagos Based counsel Olukoya Ogungbeje, who filed the fundamental rights enforcement suit on behalf of the suspected kidnapper, is praying for the order of court to direct the respondents to immediately charge him to court if there is any case against him in accordance with Sections 35 (1) (c) (3) (4) (5) (a) (b) and 36 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
