The Emirate Council of Kano State has made public details of the state Emirate’s expenditure. Emir Sanusi spends N3.4 billion in less than 3 years, not N6 billion.
This claim was made known by the senior council official in charge of finance, Bashir Wali.
Wali dismissed spending N6 billion of the emirate.
He admitted to have spent N3.4 billion since Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II took over office in June 2014.
Wali, who doubles as the Walin Kano, told journalists this while addressing a press conference in Kano on Monday.
He said the emirate had only spent N3.4 billion.

Wali also made some details available on the expenditure.
According to him, the Emir inherited N2.9 billion (exactly N2.895,165,43.77) and not N4 billion as stated in some media reports.
This is coming after reports emerged that Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II and his Kano Emirate Council were under probe by the state government over alleged corruption.
The investigations was being carried out by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.
Emirate Council’s secretary and treasurer were summoned to explain how more than N4billion was spent.
Recall that Emir Sanusi had recently been accused of hypocrisy by Zamfara governor and chairman of Governors Forum Abdul-Aziz Yari.
I’m proud of my daughter for slapping a man – Emir of Kano, Sanusi
Despite the probe, however, Sanusi’s daughter says her father is not afraid of losing his position as an Emir since he lost the position as Central Bank governor years back.

Meanwhile this development has caused an outrage on social media.
A Twitter user, HENRY Okelue @eyedmonk tweeted:
“Emir Sanusi broke omerte & said it to the face of the Northern establishment that it is keeping northern people backward – he is now an enemy.”
Another user, FAVOUR ONYEOZIRI @Rouvafe tweeted:
“The Cabal wants Illiteracy – IN Poverty – IN Docility – IN Bad Govt – IN Child Marriage – IN Fulani Herdsmen – IN Emir Sanusi – OUT.”
