This announcement came after it was reported that one of the president’s close senior advisers tested positive to the virus on Thursday, October 2, 2020.
President Trump was last spotted in public on Thursday and he appeared to be alright while returning from a trip to New Jersey.
Donald Trump and the first lady’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley received confirmation of the test on Thursday. While speaking to the media, he stated that both Donald and Melania Trump are okay and they plan to remain in the White House in this period. He also promised to give an update on other developments.
The president refused to wear a mask on most public occasions and even went on to mock Joe Biden for wearing one.
As of October 1, 2020, there has been 7 million confirmed case of COVID-19 in the US with 205,000 deaths.
