
The Nigerian entertainment industry is not as large that one would not know who has stolen his piece. Lol. Another case of intellectual theft as erupted after stand up comedian, Baba De Baba called out popular Youtube comedians, Mark Angel and Emmanuella of Mark Angel Comedy for theft and plagiarism. Baba De Baba is accusing Mark Angel of stealing contents from a couple of popular comedians including him, to create his viral skits.

According to LIB, Baba de Baba was quoted as saying: “If you know Mark Angel tell him to stop using comedians jokes to shoot skits because the God that blessed him can also give him the brain to be original.
“I sent him a message on WhatsApp and he read and ignored, I called and he didn’t pick. All I told him was that he should delete the episode 100 from his YouTube account and also from his hard drive because it is my intellectual property.
“That’s what he does, he shoots comedians’ jokes and he doesn’t feel bad about it because comedians don’t tell him to his face. I have peacefully told him and his forming big boy.
“I think he has not heard my story, let him go and ask comedians that used my jokes what I did to them, I dey use belt flog them for shows,” the comedian quipped.
In the same vein, recall that former members of the defunct Plantashun Boiz group, Blackface and 2face had been engaged in an intellectual theft scandal. Blackface had accused the ‘African Queen’ crooner of stealing his song ‘Let Somebody Love You.
Also, a Nigerian music producer, identified as HOD, recently accused popular hiphop star, Davido of ‘stealing’ the production for his record, ‘Pere’ in which he featured Young Thug and Rae Sremmund. HOD accused the ‘Fall’ crooner of jacking his production without credit and using it without compensation.
