An 11- month old baby, Buhari Dauda, whose stepmother cut off his genital, will soon undergo another phase of surgery.
A genital implant would be carried out on him soon in the UK.
Buhari was two months old when his genital was cut off by his stepmother, Bara’atu Rabiu.
Rabiu used a knife to carry out the act without giving a cogent reason for her action.
The baby, who is now 11 months, may have another chance of growing up with a functional manhood.
Although, the possibility of having one has been ruled out by medical experts.

The Director General (DG) of the Niger State Child’s Rights Agency, Mariam Kolo, disclosed the plan to newsmen at the weekend.
Kolo said the state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has taken responsibility for the medical bills of the baby.
“The baby who just finished another round of surgery in Bida will be taken to the UK within the year.

“Buhari’s stepmother, Bara’atu, who chopped off his penis, would soon be arraigned at the State High Court, for prosecution.”
The DG also said that one of the primary responsibilities of her agency is to ensure the protection of children from all forms of abuse.
How would one describe such a step mother? Where is the real mother of the child anyway?
