Nigeria’s richest kidnapper, billionaire Chukwudubem Onwuamadike alias Evans, following his arrest, has continued to give more revelations into his involvement in crime. First, he disclosed how he splashed part of his loot on luxurious properties. The suspect revealed he has two houses in Magodo, which he brought for N130 million and N70 million. The billionaire kidnapper however blamed his arrest on his charm which he claimed failed him.

In a chat with newsmen, the kidnap kingpin said he was assured by a Chief priest in Anambra State that he would never be apprehended by law enforcement agents.
According to the 36-year-old father of five, he didn’t know what went wrong with his charm that made it possible for the police to arrest him. He said, “The native doctor resides in Nnewi, Anambra State. He is a traditional ruler. After police busted our Igando hideout, he told me to have no fear and he said nothing would happen. Also, he told me that nobody would be able to catch or arrest me. I believed him and I really don’t know what went wrong.
Recall that Evans made news headlines last Saturday after he was arrested in Lagos by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force. The Joint Special Forces led by the Intelligence Response Team, the Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Technical and Intelligent Unit of the Force, on June 10, swooped in and raided his N130 million mansion in the Magodo area of the state.

Following his arrest, his father, Stephen Onwuamadike had alleged that his estranged wife manipulated Evans into crime. Meanwhile, he (Evans) revealed that his wife had full details of his ill activities and even played the role of an account officer to all the ransom he collected from victims.
