Roman Abramovich: Chelsea Owner Finally Opens up After Blinding Poisoning Attack

Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea football club was the victim of poisoning following the peace talks in Kyiv earlier this month.

The Russian businessman, who is part of the negotiations for peace reportedly developed symptoms such as red eyes, constant and painful tearing, and peeling skin after the meeting. He also ‘went blind for several hours’ and had to be treated at a hospital in Turkey.

According to Wall Street Journal, at least two senior members of the Ukrainian delegation also suffered the same symptoms.

The US media claims that the attack was perpetrated by a group composed of members of the most radical wing of the Kremlin, to sabotage talks between Ukraine and Russia. Bellingcat reports that Ukrainian MP Rustem Umerov had also been taking part in the peace talks.

A representative for the Chelsea owner has confirmed that the Russian oligarch had suffered the reported symptoms but failed to provide further details about the attack.

Roman Abramovich, had accepted a Ukrainian request to help negotiate an end to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
