Elon Musk’s Neuralink Accused of Torturing and Killing 15 Monkeys

• Elon Musk’s biotech company Neuralink has been accused of torturing monkeys that were used in its experiments

• 15 out of the 23 monkeys that received the chips have allegedly died due to trauma caused by the chip

• Many developed severe reactions to the chips and the company was forced to put them down to avoid further suffering

Neuralink, a biotechnology company founded by Elon Musk has been accused of animal torture during experiments.

An animal rights group, The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) obtained records that revealed that monkeys used in the company’s testing were tortured.

Neuralink is focused on developing a brain chip that would monitor and stimulate the activity of the brain.

The biotech company signed a deal with UC Davis in 2017 to develop the brain chip using monkeys as test subjects.

PCRM is claiming the university withheld information about the abuse of the animals during the testing.

The monkeys received the chips between 2017 and 2020 and the experiment was said to be e progressing to humans.

23 monkeys were involved at the start of the experiment but 15 either died or had to be out down by 2020. The remaining seven monkeys were transferred to a Neuralink facility.

Although Neuralink ended its relationship with UC Davis that same year, the company didn’t give a reason for the separation.

Billionaire Elon Musk and Neuralink executives have also failed to open up about the animal torture allegations.
