Bitcoin has continued its rally from yesterday as the flagship cryptocurrency broke through its previous all-time high earlier this morning.
The original cryptocurrency climbed 4.2% to $68,500 before dropping slightly lower to $68,127.
Before its recent rally, BTC’s previous peak was around $67,000, which was attained on October 21st.
Since then, the cryptocurrency dropped below the $60,000 landmark before continuing its bull run.
Bitcoin is not up by more than 120% from around $29,000 that the original cryptocurrency was trading at the start of the year.
Also, the second-largest cryptocurrency based on market cap, Ethereum reached a new peak of $4,833 in the late hours of Monday.
At the time of this report, the total cryptocurrency market cap is now at $2.94 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap, up by 3.12%.
Loopring is the biggest gainer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies, adding 39.5% in the past 24 hours.
