AMC Theaters Make Stunning Bitcoin Announcement

• AMC Theaters will now accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as payment for online tickets and concession

On Wednesday, AMC widened the range of cryptocurrencies that will be accepted as payment in its movie theaters.

Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc., the largest movie-theater chain in the United States of America disclosed this on Wednesday.

The entertainment company is now set to accept other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.

AMC had previously revealed that it will be accepting flagship cryptocurrency Bitcoin for payment during its second-quarter earnings report in August.

AMC Theaters will now allow users to buy online tickets and pay for concessions using these coins before the end of the year.

Mr. Aron also disclosed that the company will also accept payment through Apple Inc.’s AAPL Apple Pay and Alphabet’s GOOGL GOOG Google Pay.

A growing number of companies have announced plans to start accepting cryptocurrency as payment as the crypto market continues to boom.

Some of the popular companies in this club are Paypal, Square Inc, and Tesla, although the car company halted these plans in May after CEO Elon Musk raised concerns about the effect of Bitcoin mining.
