The purchase of this NFT will represent physical and digital ownership of the first and last bottles of “Hennessy 8”, a limited-edition expression from the luxury Cognac house.
The company has disclosed that the bottles and assets will be sold to a single buyer on the spirits NFT platform BlockBar for 70,47 ETH (approximately $226k) on January 12th.
According to Forbes, the content of the bottle honors the legacy of the house’s master blenders and combines an eau-de-vie from every generation of blenders in ultra-luxury formatting.

The physical bottles will come with a Baccarat-blown and engraved carafe, a cork holder, a pipette, and a chest designed by Arik Levy.
4 tasting glasses which were designed more than 30 years ago by George Riedel and Yann Fillioux have been set aside for the occasion.

The BlockBar platform stores the physical bottle for free and once it is acquired, the owner will be issued a digital version of the bottle to verify that. A physical bottle will then be delivered upon request.

2021 was a booming year with over $23 billion generated in the NFT market. More companies have been looking to tap into the gains, with the latest being Hennessy.
