The structures which have been earmarked for destruction include illegal buildings and abandoned vehicles.

The government has alleged that these abandoned structures have become hide-outs for armed robbers who attack people in traffic.

Owners of these structures have been issued an ultimatum till 29 July 2021 to have them removed from the area.

There has been a spike in robbery cases in traffic at Jakande Roundabout since the turn of the year.

The Lagos state government believes that the removal of the hideouts of the criminal will reduce their activities around that area.

The ultimatum was issued in a statement by the Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, Mr Femi Moliki.

The disclosure was made by the chairman of the agency CSP Shola Jejeloye who alleged that the abandoned structures were also affecting road construction in the area.
