The Kano Hisbah has finally explained why it treats poor and rich people differently for crimes committed.
The sharia police have been frequently slammed for ignoring the terrible acts committed by the wealthy while discipline the poor for the same things.
A director of the Islamic police, Aliyu Kibiya disclosed the reason for this treatment while talking on a Freedom Radio programme.
Kibiya stated that the tenets of the Islamic religion prohibit the police from publicly criticizing the rich who commit crimes.
“Although we call on everybody in the society to do the right thing, but we make the call on case by case basis.”
“It is against the tenets of Islam to mount the podium and call out leaders. There are ways to caution a leader without criticizing him in public.”

The commander of the Hisbah board Haroun Ibn-Sina however claimed that the police have arrested the children of wealthy who have committed crimes but failed to cite examples.
The Kano Hisbah became popular after reports that they banned certain haircuts and the use of mannequins at fashion shops.
