An official of the God’s Spirit Touch Church International, a.k.a. Chosen Chapel, has defended why the church charges the sum of five thousand naira only for deliverance. Why we charge N5,000 for deliverance.

This comes after the receipt of payment from the church, where they charged N5,000 as ‘deliverance fees’ , from its members, surfaced and subsequently went viral.

Following the controversies stirred up by the news, a church official has given the reason for the charges to be on need for the rebuilding of the church because of damages from erosion.

The official, who identified himself as Prophet Osuala has been quoted to have said:

Why we charge N5,000 for deliverance“To say the truth as a child of God, the money was contribution for rebuilding the church because we’ve been battling with erosion. We’ve written to Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for support but no response came.

When asked why the fee was billed as going into deliverance purposes when it was for construction, Mr. Osuala said members are allowed to make donations “anyhow they like. They’re sowing a seed, so it’s doesn’t matter how it’s done,” Prophet Osuala added.
