The Akwa Ibom boy identified as Utibe, whose ‘cover’ of Davido’s hit single ‘IF’ caught the singer’s attention, has lost his mum. It was gathered that the Utibe who has got two younger sisters is now an orphan, as his mum who has been sick for a long time has been snatched by the cold hands of death. Utibe whose song caught Davido’s attention loses mum
“I tried to battle with ur health,but my best wasn’t good enough, Who will look after utibe and the two younger sisters.. Who will live in the huz we are building for u… I just wish u slept in that huz even for a second.. My heart is heavy. But GOD knows best. Rip ma’am.”
Utibe rose to recognition after he did a rendition of Davido’s song and to our utmost surprise, Davido sent the boy to school. In the video gone viral, the little boy was just singing along with smiles all over his face. He sang it like he owned it, although, some of the lyrics were developed by him. Lol. From that song Utibe sang, luck shone on him and his family as it caught Davido’s attention. From Davido’s post on Instagram, he hinted that he will sponsor the boy’s education for life.
Let’s recall what he said: “Here’s what he wrote on his Instagram page: “OBO GOT YOU FOR LIFE KID!!! NOTHING MAKES ME MORE THAT U FINALLY GET TO START SCHOOL!! 30 billion for ur account oooo!!!! WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS!!”
After letting fans know he’s gat the little boy for life, ‘OBO took to his Instagram page and Twitter handle to share photos of the new building he’s building for the boy and his family.
