Hours After Visiting Buhari, Pst. E.A. Adeboye Acquires New Private Jet

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor E.A. Adeboye has bought a new private jet. The Man of God visited President Muhammedu Buhari a few days ago and many church members thought that he went to discuss the CAMA Act.

News of the private jet acquired by Pst. E.A. Adeboye has generated mixed feelings among Christians in Nigeria. It has further divided opinion on the views of Christians concerning the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).

Christians showered praises on Pst. EA Adeboye after a photo of him emerged online, showing the General Overseer in a meeting with President Buhari.

The news platform which first broke the news (Church Gist) claimed that the private jet registration marking “5N-EAA” representing Pst EA. Adeboye was meant for evangelism.

Is Pst. E.A. Adeboye’s Private Jet Justifiable

As a general overseer with churches in over 190 countries with ministerial duties in many of them, a private jet is the best way to make things easy for the 78 years old Pst EA Adeboye.

Controversies had trailed the bill which was signed into law requiring churches registered in Nigeria to have a trustee appointed by the federal government of Nigeria. While his counterpart Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church verbosely condemned the CAMA Act, Adeboye remained silent sparking suspicion and rumors.

Following his secret visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock in the company of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who is also a pastor in Adeboye’s church, Naija.fm observed that the latest development has generated mixed reactions even among members of his church many of who have shared their views on social media.

His earlier visit to President Muhammadu Buhari may not be unrelated to informing the president about his new private jet. The registration of the jet which is in Adeboye’s name (5N-EAA) also appears controversial.

When most Christians are confronted with the fact that their General Overseers use expensive jets amidst the poverty status of Nigeria, they often claim that the assets belong to the church and not the pastor.
