Harrysong reveals why so many youths turn out as scammers, fraudsters
Award winning singer, Harry Tare Okri, better known as Harrysong has lamented the rate of unemployment in the country which has turned many youths to scammers and fraudsters alike.
The ‘Reggae Blues’ crooner barred his thoughts on state of unemployment in Nigeria as he begged the government to come to ‘our aid’.
But while he is lamenting, I remember he was arrested recently by Five Star Music label over charges of fraud and breach of contract.
The arrest was confirmed by Mr. C.C Chris on behalf of the record label in January 2017.
He said the record label would be taking legal action against the songster and further advised the general public to desist from transacting any business with their former employee.
So one would wonder that he was arrested for ‘fraud’ and is here lamenting over youths turning fraudsters and scammers?
Well, that’s just like a public opinion and soliloquy.
Hear what he told HipTv:
“The effect of unemployment has got people doing a lot of things, they are doing things the other way round.
“The increase in robbery, diving into several other businesses, patterns or ways of life that is not profiting legally.
“The rise in gambling, scamming, especially on the internet now.
“There are so many girls, boys who are primarily there to scam people.
“So we need job opportunities.
“We are even talking about Government investing into the entertainment industry to empower the youth.
“They have always said yes to it but they turn their back eventually.
“We pray that God will help us. Nigerians are very strong, smart people, focused people…”
