SpaceX founder Elon Musk has revealed that he is still dedicated to his long-time goal of landing humans on Mars within the next 5 to 10 years.

The world’s richest man has made it his mission to make humanity a multi-planetary species by establishing a colony on Mars.

The Tesla boss wants to achieve this goal as soon as possible, and make Mars habitable before the “earth gets too hot for life”.

Musk made the remark when he featured on an episode of the Lex Friedman Podcast which was released on Tuesday, adding that a window is open for humans to leave.

The world’s richest man who is worth an estimated $278 billion, is building the rocket that will take humans to the planet through his company, SpaceX.

However, the rocket starship project faced a setback when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pushed back the release of an environmental assessment for the orbital test.

The assessment is now not set to be released until February 28, 2022, pushing the earliest schedule for the orbital launch to March 2022.
