Manchester United football star Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed 400 million followers on Instagram, becoming the first person in history to achieve this feat.
The milestone is attained only a few months after the Portuguese national became the most followed man on the social media platform with 237 million followers in September 2021. His followers count has since grown at an exponential rate, setting far ahead of other stars.
Ronaldo follows 500 people on the platform and has a total of 3,242 posts, which means that he has an average of 10 million ‘likes’ on every post that he makes.
The feat was attained only a day after the former Juventus and Real Madrid forward turned 37.

On his birthday, he had 399 million followers and made the post:
“But in the end, it all comes down to family, love, honesty, friendship,values that make it all worth it. Thanks for all the messages! 37 and counting!”
Following Cristiano Ronaldo, model and cosmetic business tycoon Kylie Jenner is second on the ranking with over 309 million followers, while Lionel Messi is close behind with 306 million.
English broadcaster Piers Morgan congratulated Ronaldo for his new milestone on Sunday, sharing a photo of the Manchester United player on Twitter.
