Angel Di Maria: Juventus Closes in on High Profile PSG Star

Paris Saint-Germain Midfielder, Angel di Maria, is closing in on a move to Juventus on free transfer. Multiple football sources have claimed that the Italian giants want the Argentine once his contract with PSG expires at the end of the season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Di Maria has been heavily linked with a move away from France for a while now and reports claim that the deal is close to completion. The Argentine midfielder will receive a one year contract with the option to extend for further 12 months. He is expected to receive a net yearly salary of 7 million Euros.

The fact that it is a short contract rules out the possibility of a Growth Decree being implemented. In Italy, the  growth decree is a tax relief for foreign players, which comes into effect over a three-year period.

34-year-old Angel di Maria has spent the last 7 years of his career in PSG after signing for the Ligue 1 champions from Manchester United  in 2015. In his 7 seasons in France, the footballer won 5  league titles with the team. He played 294 games for the club and scored 92 goals, providing 118 assists.

Di Maria’s arrival coincides with the departure of fellow national team star Paulo Dybala, who is set to leave Juventus on free transfer by the end of the season.
