The promoters of Slap Fight have announced that the competition is set to debut in Nigeria from October this year.
TKK Sport, the promoters of the sport released a statement in Lagos, announcing the competition but an official date is yet to be disclosed.
Abdulrahman Orosanya, the Executive Director, TKK Sport said that preparations are underway for the inaugural championship for Lagos in October and a title fight in December.
Plans are in top gear for the inaugural championship holding in Lagos state in October, while the title fight is slated for December, also in Lagos,”
He also revealed that the competition will be divided into four categories: four categories: Middleweight, Lightweight, Heavyweight, and Super Heavyweight.
What is Slap Fight?
Slap Fight is a combat sport that has been around for a long time, but it became more popularized recently by Russia.
The competition pits two people against each other and they exchange slaps till one person concedes or passes out.
“Two men stand face to face and take turns slapping one another with bare hands without head protection, the competitors take turns to slap one another hard around the face on the cheek with open hand.”

One of the major rules of the competition is that only the upper part of the palm can be used to strike the opponent’s cheeks and the jaw, temple, and ear must be avoided.
So far, the competition has been carried out in the USA, Britain, Poland, Russia, South Africa, and now Nigeria.
