Streaming platform Netflix is set to reap bountifully for its investment in Korean drama series “Squid Game”.
The TV show which recently became Netflix’s biggest tv show ever is set to deliver an astounding financial payback.
According to the company’s internal estimates, Squid Game is set to deliver an estimated $891 million in revenue.
This dwarfs the budget of $21.4 million that was spent on the 9 episodes of the tv show which premiered a month ago.
This data is believed to have been obtained from an employee who leaked internal company details last week.
Since Sept. 17 when the show debuted, 132 million Netflix households have streamed at least 2 minutes of the dystopian Korean show.

It is further disclosed that about 89% of those viewers watched at least 75 minutes, while 66% watched the show to the end.
Altogether, more than 1.4 billion hours of “Squid Game” have been streamed since the show premiered 23 days ago.
The show tells the story of 456 debt-ridden contestants who contest for the ultimate prize of 45.6 billion won by participating in deadly games.
