The third-richest person in Mexico, Ricardo Salinas Pliego has once again thrown his support behind flagship cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Sharing some advice to his followers on Twitter on Saturday, the billionaire urged them to buy and keep buying while the price of the cryptocurrency asset is low.
His tweet reads:
“You have to buy bitcoin (keep buying when the price is low), then just hold your BTC, forget about selling… Trust me you’re going to thank me later.”
As Bitcoin has fallen more than 40% from its all-time high of $69,000 in November last year, a number of notable people and corporations have bought the dip. Some of the popular Bitcoin investors include MicroStrategy, U.S senator Ted Cruz, and Central American country El Salvador.
This is not the first time that Salinas Pliego has urged his followers to buy Bitcoin. In June last year, he called the cryptocurrency an extraordinary asset and claimed that its advantages make it “gold for the modern world.” In comparison, Salinas has attacked fiat currency, calling it a trap and a fraud.
At the time of this report, Bitcoin is trading at $39,198, according to data from CoinMarketCap. The world’s leading cryptocurrency is 1.1% up in the last 24 hours, with a market cap of $743 billion.
