The Federal Government of Nigeria have expressed surprise over the UK’s decision to leave the nation excluded
The United Kingdom published a list of more than 50 countries that its vaccine policy had been relaxed for and shockingly Nigeria was excluded.
The implication of this is that Nigerians who want to travel to the UK will need to self-isolate for at least 10 days before getting access to the country.
Nigerians who wanted to travel to the UK have uttered discontent over COVID 19 tests in the UK despite having received the complete dose of the vaccine.
Previously Nigeria was on the UK’s “Amber” list which restricted travelers from the country regardless of vaccination status.
Yesterday the previous travel system of green, amber, and red lists was scrapped and divided into “red” or “rest of the world”.

The federal government has swiftly reacted to the new travel system policy, expressing disappointment.
Spokesperson to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Esther Sunsuwa claimed that the government wasn’t expecting exclusion from the list and will look into it.
”The federal government is also surprised by the British policy but we will come up with something better.”
The UK government has however promised to keep working with partners to extend the COVID 19 travel policy to other countries.
