COVID 19: NLC Opposes Compulsory Vaccination For Workers
The Nigerian Labour Congress has cautioned the government against the use of force in the enforcement of vaccination
The President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba has advised the government to persuade workers to receive the COVID 19 vaccine
The government had earlier announced that workers without proof of vaccination or result of negative test will be denied entry into their offices from December
The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress is set to contest the government’s announcement regarding COVID 19 vaccination.
The president of NLC, Mr. Ayuba Wabba has advised the government to persuade workers to get vaccinated rather than force them.
“We urge that the tool of persuasion and conviction be used rather than force to get workers and the general populace to take the vaccine.”
Wabba made this statement while speaking at unveiling the Covid-19 vaccination Advisory for government workers in Abuja on Monday.
This is coming after the presidential steering committee on COVID, led by Boss Mustapha had made vaccination compulsory.

The FG body stated that workers without proof of COVID 19 vaccination or result of a test done in the last 72 hours will not be allowed to enter their offices from the 1st of December, 2021.
Wabba however encouraged workers to receive the vaccine and urged the government to make special arrangements for civil servants to access the vaccine at work.
