  • The only people who are exempted are service members with an approved exemption of pending requests

In a recently released statement, the army disclosed that it plans to begin “separating” soldiers from the service if they refuse to be vaccinated and the only exemptions will be service members with approved or pending requests for exemption.

The statement coming from Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth reads:

“Army readiness depends on Soldiers who are prepared to train, deploy, fight and win the nation’s wars… Unvaccinated Soldiers present a risk to the force and jeopardize readiness.”

Soldiers who are discharged for their failure to receive the Coronavirus vaccine will not be eligible for involuntary separation pay. The army also adds that these Soldiers may be forced to return any unearned special or incentive pay.”

The Department of Army disclosed that on January 26th that 96% of its active troops have been completely vaccinated, while 3,350 service members have refused to take the vaccine. Nearly, 5,900 have also been provided with temporary exemptions.

The military’s decision to force soldiers’ hands comes after the vaccine mandate that was released by the Pentagon last year that mandates COVID 19 vaccination for soldiers.
