His amazing wealth gain now means that Musk has $40 billion over Amazon founder Jeff Bezos who is his closest rival.

The 50-year-old’s wealth value surpasses that of both Bill Gates and Warren Buffet together, even though but billionaires have held the no 1 spot in the past.

Bill Gates is the fourth richest man in the world with a current wealth value of $130 billion while Warren Buffet has an estimated net worth of $103 billion.

Musk’s wealth rise is a result of the increase in stock prices of companies SpaceX and Tesla inc.

Musk has added more than $60 billion to his fortune this year with SpaceX being valued at over $100 billion playing a major role in this.
